Project Budget

FIXME Needs remaining 2014 figures along with 2015 & 2016

As an open-source project and advocates of an open future, we believe our project's finances should be made publicly accessible. The tables below show all revenues and expenditures of the FarmBot Project broken down by calendar year. We'll try to keep this as up to date as we can.

Overall Summary to Date

  • If revenue is higher than expenditures, it means that we have project funding approved but have not yet spent it.
  • If revenue is lower than expenditures, it means Rory has personally invested this difference into the project and it has not yet been accounted for as a line item.

Revenue

Total revenue to date (23/6/2014) = +$41,370.88

Expenditures

Total expenditures to date (23/6/2014) = -$52,314.79

2014

The bulk of 2014 was made possible by a grant from the Shuttleworth Foundation to Rory Aronson. This grant paid Rory a salary of $73,000 in quarterly installments and allowed him to spend up to an additional $50,000 for project funding. Additional project funding was provided in the form of a co-investment model whereby for every $1 Rory personally invested into the FarmBot Project during the grant period, the project funds would match that investment x10 or more. Rory plans to use the full project funding available which means he will have personally invested at least $5,000 into the project during 2014. The Shuttleworth Foundation also paid for travel for Rory to their bi-annual Gatherings. This was in addition to the salary and the project funding.

Other forms of revenue were from generous donations from folks around the world.
